Where can I get a list of ingredients for Ferro-grad & Ferro-grad C®

ls Ferro-grad or Ferro-grad C® suitable for vegans and vegetarians?

Ferro-grad contains lactose which is derived from bovine sources.

Ferro-grad C does not contain any ingredients manufactured from animal sources.

Is Ferro-grad or Ferro-grad C kosher or halal?

Ferro-grad C is not halal or kosher certified. However, Ferro-grad C does not contain any ingredients derived from animal sources. Ferro-grad is not halal or kosher certified. Ferro-grad contains lactose which is derived from bovine sources.

Can I take expired Ferro-grad C® or Ferro-grad?

We do not recommend taking Ferro-grad C tablets that have passed the expiry date. If your healthcare professional has advised that you need to take Ferro-grad C, we recommends that you should source in-date tablets for your therapy.

Can Ferro-grad or Ferro-grad C tablets be cut in half or crushed?

No, Ferro-grad and Ferro-grad C tablets cannot be halved or crushed and must be swallowed whole

Halving, cutting, or crushing the tablets will interfere with the release properties of the tablet as the matrix holding the iron is destroyed which renders the controlled release properties ineffective. Thus potentially dumping all of the iron into the gastrointestinal system which can lead to increased incidences of gastrointestinal events. Please follow the directions for use or the directions provided by your healthcare professional.

Do Ferro-grad or Ferro-grad C tablets contain dairy?

Ferro-gradC is free of ingredients derived from dairy sources.

Ferro-grad contains lactose which is derived dairy.

Do Ferro-grad or Ferro-grad C tablets contain gluten?

Ferro-grad C does not contain added gluten.

While gluten is not listed in the ingredients of Ferro-grad range of tablets, Arrow Pharmaceuticals cannot exclude the possibility that the final product may contain trace amounts of gluten.

Do Ferro-grad or Ferro-grad C tablets contain soy?

Ferro-gradC is free from soy derived ingredients.

Although soy is not listed in the ingredients of Ferro-grad tablets, Arrow Pharmaceuticals cannot exclude the possibility that the final product may contain trace amounts of soy.

Do Ferro-grad or Ferro-grad C tablets contain nuts?

The magnesium stearate ingredient in both Ferro-grad and Ferro-grad C tablets is derived from palm nut oil.

Do Ferro-grad or Ferro-grad C tablets contain legumes?

Although legumes are not listed in the ingredients, Arrow Pharmaceuticals cannot exclude the possibility that the final product may contain trace amounts of legumes.

Does Ferro-grad or Ferro-grad C contain beef or bovine-derived ingredients?

Ferro-gradC is free of ingredients derived from all animal sources including bovine sources. Ferro-grad contains lactose which is derived from bovine sources.

How many tablets are contained in each bottle of Ferro-grad or Ferro-grad C?

There are 30 tablets per bottle.

ls Ferro-grad or Ferro-grad C available in a liquid form?

No, there are no plans for a liquid formulation at this time.

What is the dose of Ferro-grad / Ferro-grad C?

Swallow whole one tablet daily or as directed by your physician. May be taken on an empty stomach or after a meal.

Is the red dye in Ferro-grad and Ferro-grad C tablets derived from insects?

No, the red dye in Ferro-grad and Ferro-grad C tablets is synthetic and is not derived from insect or animal sources.

Can I take Ferro-grad or Ferro-grad C products with food?

Ferro-grad or Ferro-grad C can be taken on an empty stomach or after a meal.

How long can I take Ferro-grad or Ferro-grad C?

Your doctor will tell you how long you should take Ferro-grad / Ferro-grad C. The product labels state, “Do not take more than 12 months except on medical advice”.

It can approximately 3-6 months to replenish iron stores in the body with a normal level of haemoglobin, so please ensure you follow your  doctor’s directions.
